The MKS fashion styling course allows you to learn the essential skills to take care of the styling of fashion shows and advertising campaigns, fashion magazines, look-books and catalogs, stores and digital storytelling. In one year you will be able to learn all the techniques to transform each fashion project into a unique visual experience in the field.

For this strategic role, Stylists must not only have talent, but also know how to develop teamwork, develop marketing communication skills, understand research methods and deepen the language and metalinguistic codes of their audience.

At the end of the academic year, students will be ready to start work experience as an assistant stylist or continue their studies by choosing the Fashion Editor specialization course to deepen their knowledge in photography and publishing.

The aim of the Fashion Styling course is to launch a career professional capable of taking care of the image of a product, company or concept in the following areas: advertising, personal styling, a shop, a event, editorial, digital and television styling. The course has a duration of 500 hours and includes classes made up of professors with experience in the sector, external speakers with international profiles and a program of seminars and conferences that will allow students to approach and have direct contact with Made in Italy working realities and not only.
There will be practical lessons on the different work sets (show-room, backstage, photographic sets) and shooting sessions that will allow students to acquire
the autonomy necessary to conceive, plan and create an editorial to be included in your professional portfolio to be presented to companies, designers, art directors and photographers.
MKS Milano Fashion School, an integral part of the Backstage Service Group and which by virtue of this can count on deep ties with MKS Milano Fashion Agency, allows all its students the opportunity to gain high-level professional experience during the period of attendance of the course.
In the annual training course of the professional figure of the Fashion Stylist, specific preparation will be provided on the following contents:
- history of fashion, costume and art;
- fashion marketing; fashion styling;
- fashion system analysis; fashion journalism;
- fashion make-up (hints for the stylist);
- color theory and image consultancy;
- history of photography;
- photography techniques;
- textile technology and product categories (fabrics and materials);
- visual merchandising;
- shooting organization;
- graphic processing and web design;
- final shooting and design of a fashion photo shoot.

Our ideal candidate
The course has a maximum limit of people who are selected through an online or face-to-face interview, but is aimed at all those who, at the age of 18, wish to pursue a career as a Fashion Stylist. Whether you are a high school graduate or a professional in this sector who wants to specialize in Fashion Styling, this course is designed just for you.
The course is limited. Candidates will be selected on the basis of:
- secondary school or vocational qualification
- age over 18
- orientation interview (telephone or in person)

Exams and certification
The exams will be carried out in the following ways according to the types of subjects:
- Written and oral exams (theoretical-cultural subjects);
- Written and elaborate reports (required in some study areas);
- Practical tests (creative, project and laboratory subjects);
- Photo shooting.
The course includes two exam sessions: the first in February and the second in June. Presentation of a thesis in front of a Commission composed of internal and external teachers at the end of the annual course in fashion styling.
At the end of the course, a certificate of competence recognized by the Lombardia Region is issued, pursuant to Law 19/2007 throughout the national territory and through the EQF (European Qualification Framework) system throughout the European Union. Outside the EU, certification is recognized on the basis of agreements between the EU / Italy and individual states or international organizations.
